East Baton Rouge Parish is part of the Baton Rough Metropolitan area and contains about 453,000 residents.  Techniques such as reverse stings and sex buyer identity disclosure have been used to combat prostitution and sex trafficking.  In 2006, a two-day reverse sting resulted in 15 sex buyer arrests.  The names and dates of birth of the arrestees have been publicized on the Sheriff’s Office website and reported in local news outlets.

In October 2014, eleven people were arrested for prostitution or soliciting prostitution in East Baton Rouge Parish. The arrests were part of an ongoing human trafficking task force operation that was taking place throughout the state. The task force includeed the Louisiana State Police Special Victims Unit; East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office; the Department of Probation and Parole; Homeland Security Investigations; Louisiana Attorney General’s Office; FBI and the Delta Drug Task Force.
